Medical Secretary (South County)

The Position: We are currently in search of Medical Secretaries. The Medical Secretary's main responsibility includes providing high-quality patient care, while exhibiting strong customer service skills to our patients and visitors.

  • This is an hourly, full time position.
  • The schedule consists of 40 weekly hours.
  • This position is located at our Pediatrics office in Narragansett, RI.
  • Employee parking is provided at all locations.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, completing prior authorizations and coordinating specialist appointments for patients
  • Verifies demographics and insurance carrier information for every patient
  • Complies with OSHA and DOH standards
  • Comply with federal and local confidentiality laws, including HIPAA, ensuring patient privacy
  • Adhere to Coastal Medical guidelines for protecting patients' demographic, clinical and financial information
  • Provides superior customer service and outstanding patient care
  • Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Medical Secretary or previous training in Office Administration
  • Previous experience with an EMR or EHR
  • Prior experience as a Medical Secretary/Receptionist
  • Prior experience in a clinical pediatric setting
